I didn't find anything in the description that it works with my Sony amplifier, and I bought it blindly because it's twenty times cheaper than the original. You know what? I don't know how the original one works, but for me this one works great. If you don't want to spend too much money just to set up the amplifier properly, this product is perfect. My 5.2 surround sound system works like a dream.
