Is the second I buy. I recommend the orange light as it is softer at night. They look just as good, but the previous one I bought is green and it hurts to look in the dark. Doubted if cutting it there would be a problem, but no. Short to measure and voila. You unhook it from one end, cut it and re-hook it. Being rubber gives a little, so I put it on the dog without disengaging one end again. It directly runs through his head. Yes, I cut it almost to measure so that even if it goes well in the head, then it does not hit it or move a lot when the dog runs. I recommend them.
