don't know about durability or battery life so no opinion on that.

This is a really cool little scanner. I tested it on numerous bar and QR codes and it scanned with no problem, it scans codes on reflective backgrounds, photographs, smartphone and computer screens, the lot. I don't know how I coped without it - a real time saver!
