Keep in mind that the EU network does not have polarity, but this measuring device does. In other words, in a socket, the live and neutral wires can be in either of the two contacts. So, if when plugging in the tester, an error of missing ground line appears, unplug and plug the tester in the opposite position to see if it was measuring the neutral wire, and not the live wire.
